2020 Webinar Banner v2

Through November in place of the annual conference APSAD is holding a series of webinars. The Webinar Series has been convened by Prof Leanne Hides with input from APSAD's members through subcommittees and special interest groups. The Webinar Series will include the annual APSAD Awards presentation ceremony, with the APSAD Early Career Awardee Cheneal Puljevic presenting on Missed opportunities to reduce tobacco smoking among people who experience incarceration or homelessness.

We are very excited to have Professor Wayne Hall deliver a keynote oration Retrospections of a Recovering Drug Researcher.

The ASCP-SIG have put together the annual Australasian Smoking Cessation Professionals Update Day with two 1-hour webinars, in which we are delighted to have Professor Tom Calma AO provide an Overview of the Indigenous Tobacco Strategy, and Dr Raglan Maddox takes a look at the continuing downward trend within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander smoking rates, amongst other great speakers and topics.

The EMCR Subcommittee solicited for abstracts from students and ECRs to put together a Rapid Fire session which will conclude in Networking, where invited speakers will share their career experiences to highlight the different career pathways open to EMCRs.

The APSAD 2020 Webinar Series concludes with two sessions on COVID-19 and the impact it has had on people who use drugs and clinicians.

All webinars are free, APSAD members will have priority on registration, along with access to all the webinars from the end of November via the Members' Portal.

We hope you are able to join us for the APSAD 2020 Webinar Series and we look forward to seeing you all next November in Brisbane for the 40th APSAD Conference in Brisbane.
