ATDC 2016 Conference, being held from 12 – 13  May 2016, in Hobart, Tasmania.

‘Rethinking Prevention: a broader agenda’ encourages discussion and thinking about how the sector can support and provide prevention, treatment and harm reduction interventions in the current environment and into the future. Recognising preventative approaches at all levels of our work is one aspect of rethinking prevention. The conference will explore how we prevent harm in multiple ways, not only dealing with substance use activity.

The exceptional program features international and national speakers, including Scott Burris (Temple University), Gloria Lai (International Drug Policy Consortium), June Oscar OAM

(Marninwarntikura Women’s Resource Centre), Caterina Giorgi (FARE), Her Excellency Professor The Honourable Kate Warner AM, Professor Maree Teesson

(NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Mental Health and Substance Use) and Jeff Buckley (QLD Health).

The calibre of the speakers will resonate with delegates from policy, research and practice settings. We are also anticipating an exciting series of concurrent sessions from our home grown presenters and our interstate colleagues.
